18 North St

Two bedroom unfurnished apartment available September 1 in classic New England triple-decker, high atop the East End's Munjoy Hill -- Portland's favorite neighborhood!

Our charming, three-unit building (The Storer Dyer House) is locally owned and...
managed, and listed on Munjoy Hill's Historic Registry. Freshly painted and professionally cleaned, this unfurnished, second floor space is classic and renovated, quiet, tidy, secure, with 1100+ square feet of vintage details and modern amenities, and lovely neighbors!

This open concept space has high ceilings, hardwood floors, original wood trim/moldings, energy-efficient dual-paned replacement windows throughout, your own in unit thermostats, new window treatments, new stainless steel appliances in kitchen, and ample storage throughout (kitchen, closets, built in bookcase, basement storage cage, etc.).

The master bedroom is a generous size (13'10" x 13'2"). And the second bedroom is slightly smaller (9'11" x 7'2"), perfect for a home office or guest room, and overlooks the side yard and neighboring gardens.

Rent includes new stainless steel appliances (electric stove, refrigerator, microwave oven), new washer and dryer in basement, your own, secure basement storage cage for outdoor sports equipment (one per apartment), and even a small shared yard.

One designated/reserved off-street parking space is optional/available. Also, if/when you need, additional neighborhood street parking on North and Cumberland is free and plentiful; no parking permits required in East End.

At 18 North owner pays cold water, sewer, all common area electricity (all on energy-efficient sensors), new basement washer and dryer expenses, personal basement storage cages, regular common area maid service, regular exterior summer landscaping, and general snow removal after winter storms.

At 18 North tenant pays their own personal electricity, and heat (natural gas and in unit programmable thermostats).

12-month lease required (not a short-term rental), along with strong housing references, employment references, and credit scores. $3029/month. No smoking. No dogs of any size. Well behaved indoor cat considered; negotiable for small pet fee. Off-street parking available/optional. Basement storage cage included in rent.

18 North is conveniently located near the heart of the East End, and just steps from the iconic Portland Observatory, Belleville Bakery, and two neighborhood markets. Stroll/pedal the Eastern Prom's amazing outdoor beauty and recreation options (trails, East End Beach, tennis courts, etc.). Or head down the hill to the trendy Washington Ave corridor, the Old Port, Northeastern University's new Roux Institute (both current AND new/future campuses), USM, Whole Foods Market, Trader Joe's, and all of the Portland Peninsula's restaurants and pubs, arts and sports venues, and hospitals (MaineMed, Mercy, etc.). All of Portland's public transpo options are easily accessible -- Downeaster train/bus station to Boston, Casco Bay ferry port, I-295, PWM Jetport, etc. But thankfully the East End is NOT in the PWM flight path (unlike West End), so much quieter on that front!

If interested in this unfurnished, two bedroom apartment available September 1, please write with any questions about the space, and to introduce yourself, employment, hobbies, etc. Since 18N2 is currently occupied until August, select showings will be by appointment only. And finally, please be respectful and do not disturb the current tenants of 18 North for any reason. Thanks very much!
